Architecture China 1000 (2000-2015)

Architecture China 1000 (2000-2015) showcases 1,000 architectural designs, installations, and important architectural exhibitions which represent China’s architecture achievements accomplished between 2000 and 2015. It’s also a review of China’s contemporary architecture during the first 15 years of the 21st century. Architectural design and construction in China have developed in a high speed, supported by China’s rapid growth since the beginning of the 21st century. In other words, China’s contemporary architectural design plays an important role in a rising China. Throughout the 20th century architectural history, there is a strong connection between the architecture boom and its era. Architecture China 1000 distinguishes from other exhibitions by showcasing the 1,000 projects to the audience in a chronological order, so that the audience can objectively see a history of the 21st century architecture in China.Meanwhile, the Architecture China 1000 Book containing all of the 1,000 projects exhibited will be published. The Book could be known as a full record of China’s contemporary architecture since the beginning of the 21st century. This exhibition is curated by independent curator, artist, and architecture critic FANG Zhenning, who was also the curator of Pavilion of China at the 13th International Architecture Exhibition-La Biennale di Venezia in 2012.
