Spectral Rose Pavilion
Beijing, CN
2020
Spectral Rose Pavilion presents a panoramic space of recursive reflections.
Large scale glass petals have mirrored finish that is reflective at the bottom and becomes gradually more transparent towards the top. Guests can stand at the center of the pavilion where they are surrounded by two layers of glass that are arranged in a radial pattern. From this perspective the surrounding environment merges with reflected images in the fritted glass, blurring the distinction between the virtual and the real. As one shifts their gaze, different shapes and colors emerge, disappear and dance about the curved glass surfaces.
